What to do, what to do; I need some advice
Not even in the same league........buy a 2005! Test drive a new '05 GT and you will know what I am talking about. 15 years of technological advancements has to account for something. All the reviews say the '05 is the best Mustang ever produced. Ride, comfort, performance, handling, "tightness", etc. are all far superior. Now I am not saying a '03/'04 blown Cobra is not a screamin' car, it most definitely is. But the '05 is much more refined and has better road manners. Hey, that's an idea. Instead of an '05 GT, find a low mileage '03/'04 Cobra and really smoke. 390 ponies "to start with" is nothing to take lightly. Every mod you make to an engine like that brings back hugh returns. Hi-pro everything in that car to begin with. I know they are out there. The insurance boggie man may get you on that one though. Don't forget, the newer the car you own, the higher the insurance rates due to the high cost of collision and comprehensive. But, then again, if you dump thousands of $$ into your '90 and you should get in some sort of accident, the insurance company will just total it and give you book value and all your invested $$ are up in smoke. Something to think about.
if i already had a good fox, i might just be tempted to go to town on it and make a really sweet ride out of it.
I also like owning a new car too though. tough call man.

Unless the car is old enough to insure thru a place like Hagerty, you will only get "book" value.
I would do both. Get yourself a new one and keep that one covered. Its not going to hurt to let it sit a while longer. If you get rid of it there is no getting it back, and its not like you are really paying anything to keep it. Do a couple of tweeks to the new one to make it "yours" and then put a little extra $$ here and there into the fox!!
