Default Any Ideas/Advice? Engine problems...

I've got an 02 GT

Started the car, and heard a VERY loud "pop" come from inside the engine compartment.

Engine makes a sound that is very similar to that of an exhaust leak (I realize it's not an exhaust leak, just trying to describe the noise), coming from the top, passenger side of the engine, possibly under the fuel rail.

Got a code scanner, got 2 codes

PO455: Evaporative Emission System Leak Detected (Gross Leak/No Flow)

PO457: Evaporative Emission System Leak Detected (Fuel Cap Loose/Off)

Now, ever since I've had the car, the "check fuel cap" light has come on randomly, replaced the cap 3 times, even had the dealer check it out, and they have no idea why it's coming on, but apparently this is common, so I think that covers the second, fuel cap loose code coming up.

I'm assuming the first, gross leak code, is my serious problem. Any ideas?

Can't afford to take it to the dealer-

I was going to say, check your # 3 spark plug. Thats one of the most common plugs to blow out. Thanks Ford.

BTW, welcome to mf's.
You should be able to run a thread chaser down the plug hole and put a new plug back in. Some people here have had to send their head out to fix it.
