GT40P HEADS..HELP
Hi all
I'm hoping you guys can help me, first I am in London UK and have an Alfa romeo not a mustang, sorry
I have a pair of gt40p heads and did not know about the pedestal mount rockers, I gave them to my engine man who also did not know about the pedeistal's so when fitting the roller rockers he machined the heads to take normal rockers and guide plates and cut down the studs, which worked fine while the engine was in the car in the garage, when I first took her out there was some funny noise and loss of power on inspection one of the studs had come out with the thread from the head still attached, so i can helicoil the head and fix that but my question is this..as there is not a lot of stud going into the head can the stud holes be drilled through, I have seen some RPM heads where the stud thread goes into the chambers is this possible on the gt40p being it has now been retapped to take studs and I guess its to late to get pedestals now.
Many Thanks Eddie
