ya that doesnt make me smile much....I put an extender on my scope and reached in on the top part of the block and I could hear the ticking on there too...now im not so sure about It being behind the timing cover...

 

when your rod bearing went out, did the ticking get noticably worse over a little time or did it pretty much stay the same?
