Over oiled air filter
I have a cotton re-usable air filter that came with my BBK CAI.
After about a year I decided it was time to clean it, so I bought a K&N recharger kit (cleaner & oil). The instructions were ok but not great.
Anyway, I cleaned it, let it air dry, then applied oil, let that dry for a few minutes, applied some more to make sure the entire surface was oiled, and strapped it back on the car.
Well anyway, at first the car would stall, it was obviously not getting enough air. So I stopped and did some more research.
I found that some people said the air dry step should be at least an hour or more (I only let air dry about 25 minutes) and that the oil soak in step should be at least 24 hours (I only let it soak in about 5 minutes).
Well anyway, I only ran it for a minute or two in this saturated state, and then let it sit over night. I also lightly patted it down with a paper towel to make sure it wasn't overly oiled. Now it seems to be running as normal, but it has me worried.
Is it still air starved? Even if its ok now, did I do any harm running it as I did?

you should have waited atleast 4 hours and put it in good sun light!
but if you do look at the maf dont touch any part of it
idk if you can clean the maf sensor

yes you can clean the maf... spray the little wire down with carb and choke cleaner and use a q-tip and be very gentle and wipe the little wire inside the maf down .... let it dry and reinstall the sensor ... thats what i did on mine and it worked fine .... hope that helped ya out
