Default wheel fell off going down the road!

today when driving down the road i felt a bad wobble and went to pull over off the road and the wheel flew off and was flyin down the road.
scared the living **** outta me. i called a friend and they picked up my wheel and we get a jack and lugnuts and put it back on.
my one stud broke and the other ones were a bit bent but i got the wheel on tight.
getting new studs tomorrow.

i was luckily it happened where it did and not at a fast speed or i could have ended up bad. i have no clue how my lugnuts got loose.

Taken the wheels of recently? Are you sure the wheels is ruined? I have seen wheels that have fallen off because of loose nut and the holes in the wheels for the studs are usually enlarged, ruining the rim.
Good thing you are OK. Could have been much worse.

my rim may be ruined now. some of the stud holes are a bit larger but i think it may be ok.

the rear wheels were taken off to change the rear axle and get the new tires on.
they may have loosened up and started loosening. ive driven it a decent amount since then.

unless its just from doing burnouts and them loosening up or someone loosened them.

the other rear rim was a little loose as well

ill get them when i go to fix it. i hope my rim isnt ruined. i think i may pick up some arp axle studs and maybe some locking lugnuts so i wont have to worry about this happening again.

How long ago was it you had the axle replaced? Wheels shouldnt just come loose on their own.

This happened to a guy on the Probe forums when I use to own one of those. Only it came off going on the highway on a bridge... He lost his rim to the river and his roter was toast along with the fender. IIRC the guy said it just popped off... There was no wobble or shaking, yet the studs didn't break. I would just be glad that it didn't happen at a higher speed or there wasn't more damage.

yeah there wasnt any damage to the car luckily and didnt go far scraping on the rotor.

just need to replace the studs. getting better studs in the rear and locking lugnuts

the axle was replaced and new tires were put on about a month and a half ago.

Since both wheels were loose I'm going to say that whoever put the last wrench on the lugnuts didn't tighten them all the way.
It's easy to do! I did it myself one one of the fronts when rotating my tires one day.I simply forgot once the tires were on.I found it while washing the car and noticed the nuts were sticking out farther than normal.
