Moving Seat Brackets Back
Alright... I'm 6' 5" and I just got a 97 cobra and basically the front seat leg room is just stupid. I can't even make a left turn and release the clutch without turning the signal off. Now, my mom and my girlfriend both have 2002 GT's and it seems like their seats move back so much more. As a matter of fact, the seat in my girlfriends goes far enough back to where I can't even push in the clutch all the way. So... lol... I decided I need to move the seat in mine back a little bit, if possible. This is where you guys come in. I was wondering the best way to go about this. Or maybe there are brackets I can buy or something. I just need a lil help over all with this.
I removed the brackets from the bottom of the seats, and moved them back about an inch, which is pretty much maxed out. It helped greatly, and in the future, I want to fab up something to where it can slide further back than that.
You could always try to find some brackets or seats from a new edge and see if that helps.

oh ok... so are you saying that I can just reposition the brackets on the seat? or does it involve drilling new holes on the floor to mount them? My girlfriend said I could take the railings from hers since she definitely doesn't need to be far back (she is 5'1" and 100 pounds... yeah I know... odd couple... lol) So If I can't just move mine back... how hard would it be to get each of the seats off of the brackets and rails and swap them? (different color interior)
I know the odd couple thing..
Anyway, the bracket was held onto the bottom of my seat by 4 bolts, I just removed them, slid the bracket back about an inch, and drilled and replaced the bolts in their new positions. The same thing could most likely be done with swapping her brackets with yours, keeping your seats respectively - the same procedure essentially, just using the stock bolt holes.
