My Plans...
no way will you keep that under ten. Just for the motor and blower you will spend that. and cobra body kits are not cheap. Your better off buying 99-04 gt with a blown motor and rebuilding it and putting a blower on that. or just buy a cobra like the other guys said. its a ton of work and wont give you much power
considering it will mostly be a salvage yard build, i think its possible especially considering the cobra exterior is just different hood (not sure the hood will allow for enough clearance) styled bumper covers and wing (which probably will be the only things will be hard to find) which i will likely order, other than installation and a hand full of performance parts what cant i find at the salvage yard that u guys will blow me out of my 10k budget... after actually looking at the price of a supercharger, if i even decide to still do later down the line it wont be part of the intial build up.

ok, i just want some one to tell me, WHY? what will put this build over my head? i know i can get a plain gt and just mod that(matter of fact my friend is selling his 99 gt for $5k) but then it wont be anything specially, i'll just have a gt with mods like every other gt owner. and i also what to know what will be bad about the driveablity. whats so complicated about this build? I want something that not everyone has...
Hey Haam I'm not going to start on the argument on whether I think it should be done cause it is your car. While I wouldn expect it to be best DD it would be ok I guess. If you want to get really out there a Ford Excursion V10 would be the way to go.
I heard a rumor some guy did it but never saw pics or anything the V10 is basically same engine you want with two additional pistons and a new cam.
I say if you want it and you can do it, do it, don't let others tell you it's a bad choice. If I listened to people who told me that I'd be driving a Mercedes.
I say go for it.

being conservative - navi motor - $2500, + trans (depends on what you want) $1,000. Fugged up older vert - $2500, cobra body probably around $1,000.... this all depends on how much you can do yourself and what deals you find, 10K is doable, but very tight... and you wont get a supercharger for that. But I say build your car, these cars aren'y worth much anyway and in anything stockish form they are slow... so who cares. I advise getting the chasis first (and preferably one that only need motor/trans) - buy your motor and get it running, then buy all the other crap.
but if your looking for fast car to race that wont burn you up... skip a step and buy a camaro. As they have said if your trying to make a "race car" then no, you will not be even close with 10k... you will tripple that and still have a crap modular.
Not exactly sure, it needs a little tlc. interrior isnt great, reverse works sometimes, and needs a little body work from a small fender bender. i would get itbecause it would be a great project car, but 5k is too much for a car i plan to disect.
If you really wanted to go nuts, do the 5.4 lightning swap. That would be a head turner, but I believe you need a ridiculously tall cowl to bury the charger on that motor. Of course, that would throw you over the 10k budget.
The other thing I would do, is forge your stock 5.4 then go F/I, either with nitrous or the procharger.
