Default Air Conditioning...

Ok so im going to make this short and simple.

Bought Car, no ac worked.

Checked a/c pressure, had no refrigerant.

Went to advance, bought the little fill kit, filled it held pressure and showed full after putting it in.

Compressor kicked on, then off wouldnt stay running, kept doing this every few seconds.

Drove the car and let a/c blow(still hot air) A/C line blew apart where it goes together and has those metal clamp thingys. I put it back on and added more refrigerant. Held pressure...This time I jumped the low pressure switch and the compressor stayed running. Air seemed to get a little cooler, lines became frosted. The guage showed it was loosing pressure, after I filled it it didnt get any cooler. I turned the car off and the line blew apart again and the refrigerant and this green dye looking stuff came out everywhere.

Is there something blocking my lines , any suggestions of whats going on? Thanks! Sorry its so choppy im in a hurry!

find the leak, properly fix it. replace the receiver dryer. you then have to pull the system into a vacuum and fill it with the correct ammount of refrigerant. or else you get what you have going on now.

the green dye stuff is the system oil mixed with dye for detecting leaks. what are you working on?

So you cant fill the lines without vacuuming it out first? I think that's why my line popped off. Its a 99 cobra, what is the receiver dryer? I'm thinking maybe that line that popped of was where it was leaking from?

Before I go to fill it again is there a way to check and see if its going to leak so I don't wast money on refrigerant? The part that popped off has like a square metal clamp thingy on it , or did...its gone now where can I find a replacement?

You may want to take it to have the ac done at a shop somewhere If you dont know much about ac systems. You may end up wasting alot of money by tryin to do it your self and by the time you get it right you may end up spending the amount what you would pay a shop to fix it. Now if ya had a small leak then you would beable to do it but from the issues you have it's not something that can be easily repaired. also it will need alot of oil now probably seeing you said it blew oil everywhere twice now.

yes, it has to be pulled into a vacuum. that style hose shouldnt just pop off. soundl like the line is faulty. +1 on getting it checked out at a shop.
