Default Car wants to drive itself

I got a problem with my Mach that doesn't want to go away. When I'm driving down the road with my foot off the gas, the car keeps accelerating.

Thanks for any help. Probably and easy fix but I'm new to mustangs.

Does your pedal feel like it's hanging up?

I'm 95% sure its not the pedal itself.

Outside looking in, it could be the throttle hanging up.

Does it stop doing it if you use the brakes?

That's probably what's going on but I can't locate where its hanging up.
I though putting on an aftermarket throttle body would make it go away but no luck there.

I don't see any problem with the cables...
Maybe a sensor?

I'm 90% sure I might be wrong but it sounds like a problem with the throttle position sensor I recommend that you get a diagnostic done and go from there.

If you have a voltmeter you can test the TPS yourself. Measure the leads with the car off but ignition on, and if it's above .99 volts or below .98 volts, then you'll need to adjust it using the screws.

Here's a writeup of how to do it:

If it isn't the TPS, I wonder if it could be something with the cruise control?

on some 99 and 00 cars there was a recall/TSB due to the throttle cable hanging up on the hood mat under the hood. Check with the dealer.

Oh NVM i see we're talking 04 MACH.
