Default High Mileage Mustang

Hey all!

I just wanted to know what y'all thought.

I'm contemplating buying a a 1994 mustang.

The car has 198,000 miles, but the rebuilt engine has 25,000 miles on it. It's a 5 speed manual transmission.

It has a body kit, so he was doing a lot of work on it and is selling it because he's about to go overseas.

What do you think? What kind of stuff should I be expecting to fail with miles that high.

For how much? That usually is important when buying something.

If he has reciepts for the rebuild and the parts and labor included I'd give a grand for it. What kind of body kit? one of those ricer body kits? Is it even painted? How does the car look? All kinds of factors to think about. If you want this as a daily driver I'd probably pass.

3.8 v6's have a historical problem with head gaskets. While a gasket can leak many ways. Some as innocent as a slight oil leak which may be ignored but the 3.8's leak is usually coolant into the crankcase. Which by the way is detrimental to engine bearings.
