Default Engine building question

Sorry guys I am new to the site I dont own a mustang. I do infact own an engine block from an 86 mustang that Im building for my 88 mighty max pickup. Im trying to figure out how Im doin this custom build and the wiring and parts that I possibly need. Im reading all over the net that the 89 EFI is the best to work with in older mustangs and custom applications. So my question is can anybody help me with what parts Im gonna need?? Do I need to junk my 86 intake and get the 89 intakes and throttle body to get the maf sensor or is it as simple as building it as an 86 and use a 89 computer and sensors??? please help Im almost ready to give up and go carb

Carb is simpler and cheaper.

If you are building it why are you going to use the stock intake?
