ok so my 96 mustang gt is at the dealership and they i had a bolt stripped inside the thermostat housing so they are going to fix it for me for 1500 this includes getting the bolt hole re machined a tow to and back from the machine shop and labor to put the intake manifold back on
my question is can i get a replacement manifold at a scrap yard and will that replace the part of the thermostat housing bolt that is stripped is that all one piece

Fixing a striped bolt for $1500.00 ??? wow, do it yourself somehow lol

Hopefully someone else will chime in here and let you know how you can fix this yourself or spend less than $1500 . wow!

You could buy an aftermarket intake for less than half of what they are trying to charge you. Just put a helicoil in it.

its not the intake that is stripped its the actual cylinder head cuz the bolt goes through the intake and the threads are on the cylinder head and that is what is stripped
