Default ZF Transmission?

Will any of the ZF 6 speed trannys fit in a SN-95?
Does anyone know the HP and Torque ratings for any one of the series?

I believe it is the transmission used in 03+ navigators and i was planning for the 5.4 anyway.

I believe it to handles at least 400hp and tq considering they use one of the series in the Falcon XR8 and is matched to the same block as the navi. But if anyone knows anything more plz inform me

The term ZF can be confusing as there is the manual version Ford used since the 1987, and the 6 speed automatic in the light duty trucks. Afterall, ZF is just the maker- ZF Friedrichshafen AG. There are several transmissions that have been used by many OEMs.

Since you brought up the Ford Falcon, I believe you're referring to the 6HP26. If so, that transmission is rated to a MAX. input of 443 lb-ft by ZF. Whether it will fit- I don't know.

Interesting thought that the 6HP26 is used in the Jaguar XF, Range Rover, and Hyundai Genesis .

I was trying to say the 6hp series. Does the 24 or 28 hold up to more? Idk I'm just trying to find a 6 sp auto for ease of traffic driving and a few mile per tank since I heard the falcon trans is lighter than a t45. So any that would fit and mate to an intech or boss 290 would be nice

I don't know if the 24 or 28 series is stronger. Either will be able to handle a stock 4.6L. And, if the ZF6HP is bolted to a modular engine from the factory- then I would find out if there's an adapter plate or anything Ford used to make it fit.

The 26 still has .69:1 6th gear versus the T45 with a .67:1 5th gear. So, you won't be gaining any MPG when cruising down the highway.
