I dont remember for sure. A New Edge is still a SN95 so I believe you need a K-Member from a 94-95 or a Tubular K-Member and a trans for a small block (4.6L is different pattern). If you are not going carbed you will have to work on the electronics as well. We did a 4.6 to 5.0 conversion on my buddies 1999 about 5 years ago but my memory isnt that great. Well technically it was a 331 but same difference. I think he later swapped it for a 351W (well technically a 408W).

Considering how wide the 4.6L is, a 351W (or any windsor) should fit fine. Making the mounts bolt to the crossmember at the right angle would be one of the first things to handle.

Getting the electronics to work is big chore. You could use the older OBD1 setup (much less wiring and sensors to install). Unless, you decide to use a separate distributor and MSD setup.

I'd imagine that the factory SN95 GT fuel pump and tank would be sufficient for the 351W- if you're going with EFI (plenty for a carb setup).

All of this will really boil down to the purpose of the car.

Look at AJE - they have the K and cross member you need. Also the electronics are easy - so long as your not trying for "stock functionality". You can make it real easy and just run a carb... save a little dough to. However, remember that passing the car will be another matter. In the next year 1999 cars won't have to pass smog in my state, so my build uses a 1999 chasis. But good luck. If you do a 351.. go ahead with a stroker kit as well and if you go carb... skip the small stuff and get a big hollly /demon or something equivalent
