Noob Engine Swap Questions!
I am new to engine swaps, and I have a few questions.
I would like to put 4.6 Liter 3-valve V8 in my 1989 Ford Mustang GT Convertible. (Ford Racing Part Number - M-6007-3V46) I would also like to put the T-56 six speed tranny in my GT as well.
I am curious if I would be able to mount in the 4.6 V8 right in, or whether it would be ridiculously hard. I am also wondering whether the T-56 tranny would work if I could get that engine in. If it is possible to do that engine swap, would I be able to keep the battery, air box, radiator, etc, in there from the 5.0 engine, or would I have to change that as well.
The main thing I want is to replace my engine, and boost my horsepower and torque to at least 450 HP and 450 ft-lbs of torque. But I really do want to put a roots-type supercharger on my engine. A supercharger similar to the 2003-2004 Cobras, and the new GT500 to be exact.
I have seen that Ford Racing sells a complete "Sportsman" engine (M-6007-XEFMS), that has 340 HP and 310 ft-lbs. However, my mustang is fuel injected, and the only roots type supercharger that I have found for it is a carberated motor.
Please help! What would be the best route for me to take? I would like to replace my engine, and put a supercharger on it. I know that a 302 would bolt in perfect, and would love to do that. But I would like to put a supercharger on it that woulod give me at least 450 HP and 450 ft-lbs of torque. Can somebody recommend a good route? Or a good Supercharger that I could put on an OHV 302 that would give me those specs?
Thanks!

if youve got a pushrod already then anything modular is a waste of time. Your better off with a bigger motor. 351.. ls swap something. That said I realize aftermarket blocks arn't cheap either... but there is no really cheap way to go, everything is pretty comparable in the end
