Default Bent rod?

What are the signs and or symtoms of even a slightly bent rod? Any help is appreciated.

knock then boom. If its really bent, it wont last long. Just go out there, tach it up to 5-6k a few times, if its still running... its ok, if it locks up ... your fugged... either way youll know what goings on in that respect. However, if it is internal, then locking would be bad, but as it stands stock internals are dirt cheap, and you could hypothetically fix it yourself. If there is top end chatter, then take off that side's valve cover and look around, run it and see

The reason I was concerned is about a year ago my intake gasket broke over the number one hole and coolant got in there from the crosover. The car locked up when i tried to start it, I didnt know what happened so I forced i through. It smoke like a mo fo for a while then drove fine. I then found out the reason and fixed the problem but the question has always been in my mind wether or not that rod is bent. The motor runs fine, dosnt knock, spark plug looks normal. I have had the car at the track and driven it like I always have since I fixed it, no knocking or boom yet??? So out side of a compression check I just wanted to know signs even if it was just a little bent. I'm prolly just paranoid.

Since it's #1 you could pull the plugs out, and put something in the plug hole to feel the piston, and turn the engine over by hand and see if 0 in the balancer coincides with TDC of piston motion.
