I am looking to upgrade from the single CD to the Shaker 500 in my 2008 Mustang! Is this even possible with just replacing the head unit? Ford is giving me the run around.
I think you need to change more than just the head unit. The 500 will use more power so youll have to get a new wiring harness too...someone with more knowledge will be able to correct me if im wrong.
I installed it tonight and all went well except that it tries to initialize and then I get a CD ERROR. Maybe as you say it does not have enough power to move the CD Changer.
Right now it won't even accept a CD and I need a reverse attena plug to test the radio part but all lights up and the only error is when I press Load and I get CD ERROR.
