Default fogs/high beams ???

A mod i have done on a few cars/trucks in the past was wiring the fogs to stay on with the high beams. DId a search and didn't turn up much here. With my new HID kit having the fogs on would be great. Anyone every make the wiring diagram for this? When i had my RumbleBee it was a simple jump in the fuse box from one fuse to another. Is it the same in the stang??? any help would be great..

thanks in advance.

Almost my ****. Its like comparing apples to oranges. Yea, they
are round and you can eat them but the sameness stops
once you actually cut into them and study the insides.
How bout its about 2% the same as they both use copper for wiring.
Beyond that, the sameness stops dead in its tracks...

Its not a simple jump from fuse to fuse on the S197 stang.
How bad do you want this as the electrical drawing could be posted...

Its nothing like the plug-n-play sequentials you installed....

http://iihs.net/fsm/?dir=40&viewfile=Fog Lamps.pdf

http://iihs.net/fsm/?dir=40&viewfile... Autolamps.pdf

It involves tapping into a high beam wire at the BEC or the headlight
connector under the hood, powering the coil of a fog light relay with that
and then powering the fogs with the N.O. contacts of previously mentioned
relay thru a fuse from the battery...
The SJB handles all of the lighting and logic is in place to turn off the fogs
when the high beams are requested.

I read of a clever solution but have not tried it myself.
All that was done was to swap the wires in the head light connector. High's to Low's. The only catch was that the high beam indicator on the instrument cluster is now reversed.

The next mod would be to replace the lamps from Fog's to driving beams. Seems much more useful to me.

With the low/high swap mod, would the fogs now not work with the low beams??
Is that not another catch to the wire reversal solution?
StreetScene and PIAA both have that conversion and the
PIAAs rock hard, believe you me...

Yes, the driving lights would turn off when the high beams did. Perfect for driving lights. And the beam indicator on the dash, once learned would be a non issue. On for lows, off for highs.

Another thought is to cobble up a signal inverter to place in line some where. So when the SJB commanded the fogs, the little board would invert the signal and do the opposite.

Need to study on that one some more.

Maybe the SJB is programmable. And a little code tweek would be all that was needed.

DANG.. not as simple as i thought. In my RumbleBee all i had to do was jump 2 different fuses in the main fuse box. The fogs would then get power when the high beams were on.. hummm.. not so simple in the Fords i see.

Hate to resurrect an old thread here, but i figured out over a year ago how to make the fog lights remain on NO MATTER if the headlights were on high or low beam. It requires some rewiring on an electronic control module in the passenger kick panel inside the car, but not too difficult. The key benefits are.....

1.Fogs on and off with standard switch
2.Doesn't matter if lights are on high or low (fogs remain on until YOU push in the foglight switch and YOU want them off)
3.No reversal of headlight operation - that's just goofy!
4.Absolutely NO wiring under the hood, and no wires to worry about hiding with loom. More professional install!
5.All wiring changes made at the module itself
6.Foglight illuminated access feature is NOT disabled and still functions as OEM*
*this is the feature that illuminates your foglights when you unlock your car with the keyless entry keyfob. I think it's a great way to see in the dark when you are entering or exiting your vehicle*

I am about to take the passenger kick panel apart in my car, take some pictures, and draw up some wiring schematics.
It will work with ALL GTs with OEM foglights in the grill from 2005-2009. I have never attempted to install this on the 2010, so please...don't ask me if it works, I do not know yet.

The only conflict I am having is I perfected this design, and was about to sell the idea on eBay to generate some funds. I'm a full time college student and can't find a job that allows me to remain in school. Times are tough, and I was only searching for this topic to see if anyone else had discovered how to do it. No sense selling something for a few bucks when someone else gave it away for free.
