Default electric fan install???

I'm thinking of geting a new electric fan for my stroker motor (have a flex-a-lite and it sucks) and a mustang performance shop around me said the best electric fan to get is off a 03-04 cobra. has any one installed one? will it fit? how hard is it to wire? and does the thing work? and info would help before i drop $250 on one. thanks

Doesn't matter really whats on there ,without the fan there should plenty of room. There are tons on electric fans out there even some kits that have double fans. They work real good. The wiring is simple all it is is a ground and a power you can either wire it to heat sensor in the manifold or you can put it on a switch either way is fairly simple if your somewhat mechanically inclined and have the basic tools. Most fan kits now are only three inches wide so if you have that its fine but I bet you have like 8 inches of room

Check this one out http://store.summitracing.com/partde...8&autoview=sku
on the bottom of the page it says back to search results and that shows them all

yea my car has a ford racing 2 row raidator, edelbrock high flow water pump, high flow 160 deg. thirmostat, 70/30 coolant mix, water wetter. the fan i have now flows 3300 cfm and in traffic its just not enough to coolt the engine at idle in traffic. it slowly creaps up to 200-210 degrees if i dont get in open air for a while, once im moveing it will drop down to about 170. i have enough mechanical knowledge to wire it in but i have never herd anyone doing this before.

get a taurus fan from the junkyard for a couple bucks and get a dc fan controller.

the best fans are factory ford fans.

You say your engine temp creeps up especially when you're idling and not a problem while you moving? Kinda weird, as the engine generates more heat when it's moving than at idle... Do you have a fan shrowd installed? Some guys take theirs off either cause it doesn't fit their custom engine/fan/rad, or because they think the engine bay looks "cleaner" without the shrowd. However they shrowd is vital especially at idle. Otherwise almost half the air the fan is pushing/pulling is not even going thru the rad at all..
