Default Rear window replacement in 1988 Mustang

Hi, this is my first post. I have a 1988 Ford Mustang with a convertible top. It use to have a glass rear window, but someone decided to break it, and climb in the car that way. I am in the middle of replacing it with a plastic rear window, but I am having some issues. The sides of the glass are not "tight" with the convertible top. Also, the corner bolts of the bottom bar that the window attaches to are missing. Can I even replace a glass window with a plastic one? Thanks.

Are you putting a zip in window back into it? You should be able to replace it with a plastic window. The only thing you might have an issue with is the zipper not lining up.

You might have to have a trim shop sew the other half of the new windows zipper in so that you can zip it.
