Hi - I'm new to this forum, so for those of you boycotting newbies, I will miss having your advice!

My niece, 19, is a college sophmore and lives about 225 miles from me. I purchased this car for her when she was 15, and we have replaced the transmission. Other than that, I cannot state what work has been done.

She states that when she is driving (not idling) the car stalls. It has happened a few times in the last couple of days. She also said that the gauges also "go crazy" right before it happens, and the revs drop. She said once she felt like it was going to stall, so she gunned it and it didn't. It has not stalled while in park.

I had her check her fluids and battery cables, other than than I'm not sure how to help her. She is a poor college student, so we'd like to avoid a mechanic. She's not afraid to get her hands dirty and even changes her own oil.

My husband usually helps her with these things but he's deployed to Iraq currently. Any and all help is appreciated!
