Could either be a parasitic draw or a bad battery. Easy way to tell is to pull the battery cable off after you shut it off. If you put it back on after it sits for the 8 hours and it starts without having to be jumped then the battery is probably good and you will have to find out what is either staying on or shorted and drawing the battery down. Another possibility is that the battery is right on the ragged edge of being completely shot and something like the radio memory is draining it in which case you need a new battery. Be sure to check out everything. I've seen it where things light the glovebox or hood light were staying on when they were should be off and you wouldn't know it because they were closed.
