Default Spend My Money!

Hey Guys...

If you had $12,000 or so to drop...and didn't currently have a mustang...what year/model would you look for and why?

I'm in this situation...my dad and I would like to have a nice, running GT...that we could do weekend mods (CAI, Exhaust, Wheels/Tires, etc) on. I found a 2004 GT w/ 53K miles for $12,500. What do you think of that?

THanks for any input.

are you looking for something as a daily driver or just a project car that will not be driven every day?

It would not be my daily driver...would keep my truck...the mustang would be my 2nd vehicle...so not a big deal if out of commission for some mods.

I would go for a 5.0 if I were you, preferably a 94/95 (the SN95s had 5.0s that year, and I like that body style better than the fox). I wouldn't recommend a 96-04 GT, those year 4.6's don't really run that well and you will have to sink a lot more cash to get them to run than you would a 5.0.

For 12k you might even want to look in the LS1 F-Body type cars (98-02 Camaro/Firebird). Really fast and it doesn't take much to make them wicked.

um, wernt the 5.0 like 215? and the first run of 4.6 about the same? I think it was the 99+ that got the P.I. Heads and made more like 260.

Also for the price your at, your very close to a 05+ Take this 05 gt with 50k on it for 14,500

Not a bad car, mods easy to come by, and start with 300 HP
