Default Wondering if anyone can help me.

Hi guys I am new to the this site and wondering if anyone can help me out. Since I was 12 I have dreamed of making a hot rod, when I was 16 I got a 1998 Mustang 3.8L V6. and I just came across two Ford 302 Motors. One of them is out of a Ford Wagon, the other was a marine motor. Block casting numbers are as follows D2OE-6015-AB 3A4 the other is D8VE-6015-A3A. I am wanting to do an engine build and swap. I am looking at making a 347 Stroker to get into my 98. Would either of these blocks work as a base block or should I find a newer a motor? I am willing to answer all questions and go into more detail for the build in my mind if that will help.

Thank You to all.

How much power are you looking to get (what's your goal)?

I am looking to be in the in the High 300HP to Mid 400 HP. I believe the state road limit as far as power is concerned is 500 HP so that is my cap. I want to be able to take it to the local drag strip and have some fun, and maybe beat my step-dads 2009 5.7L Hemi.

So far what I have is a 1972 Ford Block previously built as a marine motor. I have taken it completely apart and done all the measurements and everything looks good. I plan stroking this motor. The specs as far as I have figured out and learned (never done this before) are as follows.

302 Block Bored .030 over
351W heads not sure what to do to these or specs on them either
Hydraulic Flat Tappet Cam Duration at .050 Int: 204 Exh:214 advertised Int 270 Exh 280
Lobe Spread 1.2, Valve Lift .448int .472 exh cam lift .280int .295 exh
3.400" stroke crankshaft
5.40" Connecting Rods
Hydraulic Lifters
Not sure on pistons yet, going to go forged but not sure what style.

I am looking to build this motor for 9.5-10.2 Compression, from roughly 1000-6500 RPM's.

I have absolutely no idea what intake, or carb to get.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
