Default throttle body condition

I'm looking into buying a used throttle body, what kind of things should I look for in it, I was just thinking overall condition, like any nicks or chunks, and a flat surface on the back and that the spring wouldn't be worn out. Do you suggest buying a new one over a slightly used one? What's a good price for a used one? 75-175 canadian dollars? Also how much of a difference does a throttle body spacer make because I wasn't going to get one but if it'll give upwards of 10 hp I think I would put it on. Will I notice any difference once I put it on my car, my 89 lx is pushing 350 hp if that helps at all.

what are your other mods?

if you are really pushing 350 than yes a 70 mm tb will help. you will need to get the matching spacer or the tb will do you no good.

look at my signature... and I don't think I'm going to buy a spacer just the matching EGR plate.

the bigger throttle body will help thats for sure and I dont think there are many things that can go wrong with a throttle body it just mostly depends on the condition of the looks of it really.Even if its dirty inside or out you can just clean it up.If you can find a used one it will work just as good as a new for half the price. And the 350 hp seems really high for what you have listed unless you missed some stuff

i dont know about 350 hp with stock heads, tb, and probably intake too. 65mm is all you probably need but what to check for tis the spring on the bottom on the tb to make sure its tight if its not then its not any good. they can always be cleaned

The Ford Racing throttle body is pretty reasonably priced and includes all the bolt-on sensors as new also. I have always had good luck with Ford's TB's in the past. I believe I only paid around US $150 for the "new" FR 70mm TB for my '98 GT. I installed it to an Accufab plenum and all works beautifully. The engine is much smoother now. No complaints at all. Shop around online for the best price and don't worry about used.

Oh there definately is more stuff, but just in the receipts that he gave me, 16000 worth(whole car, not just engine) he said he was missing about 5000 dollars in receipts. The car was acutally dynoed from what he said, I didn't get the dyno sheet but he said 347 hp then he added I just added a cai.

What is the purpose of the EGR Plate? I seen a EGR plate delete on ebay for 35 bucks and that's a lot cheaper than to buy the acutal EGR plate. What's the better route to go? Do I lose power if I put on a EGR delete?
