Default Tire size

Can anyone tell me what is the widest tire I can use on the stock 1989 gt rims? Can I go with a 245/60/15 or would 235/60/15 be the widest?

Thank you,

Robert.

they are 8 inches wide right? You should be able to fit a 245 no problem.

You can put a 10.5 tire on a 8" rim without any problems, never tried bigger though.

I have a set of 26x11.5xR17 mounted on the stock S197 R17 8 inch rims and they are holding up fine, even when aired down to 13 psi.
