still, no matter when he did it, it would be cheaper from any perspective to go ahead and buy the 99+. for 2 grand more you dont have to spend the atleast 3 grand in body mods for the conversion.

94-98 Mustang V6's are extreemly unreliable for a first time driver, the heads and bearings are a deplorable abombonation to Mustangs. The heads crack because there are so many water passages in them and the casting is think. My 95' V6 died with 160k on it, usually they dont last longer then 130k. Dont get me wrong, they can be MADE into something great, powerful and reliable but as a stock condition they are bad for reliability. The main bearing problem was resolved in 98 but the heads continued to be crap for the remaining of that model year.

99+ V6 mustangs are more reliable and the head problem was resolved in a new inovative split-port design which flowed a hell of alot more creating more power but did not have the thin casting problems. The main caps were also beefed up to a thicker cast and better materials.

94-95 V6 = 145hp
96-98 V6 = 150hp
99-04 V6 = 190hp 215ftlbs tq.

94-97 V8 = 215hp 285ftlbs tq.
98-98 V8 = 225hp 290ftlbs tq.
99-04 V8 = 260hp 302ftlbs tq.

If you really like that body style then wait for it. The new Cobra and shelby is coming meaning that prices will drop yet again.

Anyways, good luck with everything and I hope that you are happy with your stang when you get her no matter what options she may have

-Eric-

I would suggest just getting a 94-98 GT or Cobra model. Better reliability in the V8 models.

if you are getting a pre-99 v6, (extremely slow) and you are spending a ton of money on body mods (replacing bumper covers, doors, fenders, decklid, hood.....interior.. etc.) thats a ton of money. probably cheaper to buy a 99 v6 mustang.
Are you not getting what I said. I don't have the money for a 99 stang because my family is going tru rough times. So I can only get a pre 99 stang most likely. Also Its not that slow and is enough for me because I am a first time driver. I will be getting a stick shift tho. I don't need speed its a daily driver.
ARE YOU NOT GETTING WHAT I SAID!?!?

dude. a 99 v6 is 5 thousand bucks with 80k miles.. or 4500 for a non perfect condition. you can get a 94 for 2000-2500 dollars with 150k miles and unreliable. then all the bumpers/parts needed for conversion will be more expensive than a 99v6 from the start. and the 99+ have way more power[:-][>:]
YOUR A JOKE. Here you can not get a 99 for 5 thousand. I'm sorry but get your facts str8 before you come here debating with me. Anyway here a 99 is about 7 or 8 grand.

No you don't get it. You are not in my familys position so you need to stop posting what is better for me so you think. The only one I can get is a 94 type body style. And there about 3 to 5 grand here.
Thanks

im pretty sure youd have to replace about every body panel because the lines on newer stangs are different. so you're talking about taking off your rear quarter panels and welding new ones on, then new doors i believe, new front fenders new front and rear bumper, new headlight assembly, new hood, new tailight assembly, new trunk too i believe cause of tailights. For the quarter panels ive seen 2 go for about 600$, front and rear bumper could be had for 400$, new hood 300$ new front fenders 500-600$, new doors probably 300$ a piece depending if you get new or used. not sure on headlight assembly and conversion but youd need to change your mounting points so youd need the 99+ mounting. a new trunk would be around 300$ too depending where you get it oh and you might need new sideskirts. so probably around $2500-3000 for the body panels if you bought separate, youd probably just get a parts car to do this right? you have to weld the quarter panels on and taking them off isnt easy either. id say if you can do the welding and all the work yourself, and find a good deal on a parts car you could doit for $3000 if you are real lucky.

oh and correct me if im wrong, 94-04 mustangs have the same fram so the newer panels would bolt/weld up correctly right? if not then youd have a lot more work cut out for you.

Im a joke? I (16 yrs old) bought my 99 v6 with 80k miles last october for 5 grand. i cashier and bag groceries at a grocery store and can afford my car and then some- at 16! so get a clue and get an education. then put your business and negotiating skills to the test and go find yourself a car. get what you want. im trying to help guide your decision and save you money. ignorance on your behalf will get you nowhere man.

hate me if you want but ive been around cars my entire life and there are many members here that would back my stance on this "debate". good luck in life bro. i hope you get what you want.
