Angry Passenger side door problem

Hello,

I have a 2000 Mustang 3.8 and I am having a problem with the passenger side door. The electric lock no longer works (using either the keyless remote or the buttons on the door itself) and the dome light will not come on when the passenger door is opened.

The dome light does work with the headlight switch and the driver's side door. Previously, I had a problem with the passenger door where after opening the door the dome light would not go out. This happened whenever it rained for a period of time so I suspect water is getting to the jamb switch.

My problem is that I can't locate the jamb switch In all of my other vehicles they are easy to spot as they are a plunger type switch however, I can't see anything like that on the stang.

Can anyone provide some information as to where these buggers are?????

Thanks for your help.

I think the switch is part of the door latch now.

Yep, the switch is part of the door latch now. This is a common problem. The latch get gummed up with dirt and crud. Usually a thorough soaking of the switch with some penetrating oil like WD-40 will take care of it.
