I would like to disable the overhead light in my 2002 so I can leave the door open at a car show (required by judges). Book says..to change the overhead lamp, see your dealer. I was just going to take the bulb out, but there must be other ways. Any ideas?
Hey sry man but i dont know ive tried a bunch of stuff to get mine to go off but it hasnt and ive just stop trying myself but i guess if no one knows here which someone will probably see the dealer and just ask them about b4 you get them to do anything.
Yeah, that's what I do with my 66. I like the old technology (pin in the door). I was hopeing not to have to hunt down the wire, etc. Thanks for the reply.
back in high school I had to disable the overhead light to my car also. It wasn't required by a judge, it was required by my girlfriend.... I still don't get why though...
No it doesn't in Mustangs. What I wanted to do was just take out the bulb, but in the owners manual under change the bulb it says "see your dealer or a certified technician". I couldn't believe it! They make it where you can't just change the bulb. Anyway, that's why I asked the question. Also, I thought the switch might be in the latch, like in some Ford trucks, but no luck there, either. About the fuse (I thought of that too) the fuse for the overhead light is also for the GEM, so I can't pull that.
