Powerchip Removal
I recently purchased a 2004 Mach 1 and noticed it was throwing a 2195 code. After a bit of investigating I think I have the culprit - an aftermarket power chip. Was wondering if anyone could advise what kind of issues I might encounter if removing the chip.
Thanks for your time.

It depends on the mods.
If you have a blower or NOS or other aggressive mods, then you'll need to get your car retuned right after you remove the chip.
Otherwise, you might lose a little timing and a bit of power, but it won't hurt anything. Just unplug the battery for 20 minutes and let everything reset.

The car is bone stock aside from the chip. A quick diagnostic shows the chip is calling itself out as a 1.8 liter 4 cyclinder instead of the 32 valve V8 in the Mach 1. The car runs great but keeps throwing the 2195 lean burn code.
I'll pull the negative battery cable, remove the chip and then hook it all back up after about 30 minutes. I'm a Corvette guy and the Mustang's are a bit new to me.
Appreciate your time.
