my battery is giving out a reading around 13v. when the battery is 12v. is that damaging my car electronically in anyway

no, it's good. means your alternator is running well. also means you can probably get away with underdrive pulleys for certain.

13 is even a little low for running usually its up around 14 dont worry about it thou.What made you check this anyway?For the hell of it?

should be 13.6 i believe for a fully charged batt while car is running. it should read 12.6 off (2.1 V per cell) and 13.6 when running (i think, alt increases volts by 1 last time i checked)
