Default 04 jeep grand cherokee steering noise

hey guys im a tech at a local shop and we have kinda hit a wall with this jeep. its making a rubbing noise that is very loud you can hear it 7 bays away. i already did the obvious by lubing the rubber gromet at the firewall and that did no good. found a tsb for the same noise i was hearing that added a shim and an updated peice behind the steering wheel and that didnt do it either. so the jeep is back and me and the master tech have been trying to figure it out and the closest we can get to is thinking the steering box is going bad. the vibration/noise is loudest right where the steering shaft meets the box and it is also very loud where the tie rod connects to the pitman arm. anyone ever experience this before?

Find a jeep forum. They has got to be some serious wrenchers over there that have seem similar issues.

While you will probably be better finding a jeep 4x4 site. I only know of srtforums.com and moparts.com
