Default tires scrapping when turning

I have 17" cobra rims on my stang and its lowered. I don't know how much because I bought it that way. I can't turn the steering wheel all the way because it scrapes. Is there anything I can put on or do so I can turn more?

Unfortunately you will have to get taller springs.Do the springs show signs of being heated to get them to lower the car. That's what the ricers used to do here to lower their cars without buying springs. You didn't notice this while test driving?

You are either lowered excessively and/or have excessively larger tires than stock. The combination can many times cause many clearance problems. Plus, as mentioned above, many cheap SOB's opt to play games with their stock springs by heating and/or cutting them down. Neither are really recommended for anything other than looks. Performance will suck compared to installing a lower profile aftermarket spring kit. And, these aftermarket mfg take great pains to obtain the best overall compromise between lower appearance and performance so as to avoid just this particular problem. I bet your whole suspension has been dicked with. First check the size tire you have on the car. If it is larger than 245/17, you have oversized tires on the car. Change to the stock tire and MAYBE your problem will be solved. Good luck!

Perhaps his alignment has too much toe-in. Check the offset of the rims, tire size, alignment, and springs. Then make the needed changes. If you just bought the car, find out from the owner how they lowered it.

Well if everything is "perfect" for the setup persé
You could always get Tubular A-Arms to help fix the situation as well.

I just put 255/35 R18's on my stang and lowered it "supposedly" 2 inches (even though it might be not quite 2 inches). Everybody said it would rub and never did. I agree w/ the guy that said check your springs. See if they are stock or aftermarket. If they are aftermarket, then your tires are way to wide. Good luck....
