S197 vs. SN95
#11
The S197 V6 is a 4.0, not a 3.8.
I like the 1998+ SN95 better than the older ones, with the exception of the Mach III concept. That thing is a sexy beast. I like them all better than Foxes. Not trying to be rude but the fox kind of looked like an econo-box. They just didn't have that sporty, classic styling they started to bring back in 93.

I honestly cant choose between the two, I love the jelly bean SN95's, I love the angry looking new edges and I love my S197 GT. But they all have pros and cons, my 94 mustang vert had 1 ****ty cup holder but my 05 has 2 legit cup holders but no freakin trunk release button
either way the sixxers in all of them are ancient and suck, the '11 is gonna have the only decent 6

I have had both......I prefer the S197 over my last new edge....I had nearly 3k invested in my suspension of the last car.....which felt to be only on par in handling to the STOCK 197....and the ride quality in the S197 is FAR superior!

I have purchased 4 new Mustangs since 1990 and will put them in order of preference
1) 2009 GT500
2) 2005 Mustang GT
3) 1999 Mustang GT
4) 1990 Mustang GT
The 05 had a nicer interior over the 99 and more power as well as turned better. I can say the same for the 99 over the 90. The 09 makes the 05 99 and 90 seem like I was on the slow boat to China.

I like just about every mustang that ever came out, minus the mustang II's. If presented with a chance to buy one of any type and I had the money, I would. However, I would never drive, own, or be seen in a v6 mustang. No offence to the v6 owners, but a v6 in a sportscar just doesnt sit right with me.
If I had to pick, it would be the s95's.

I've been debating this for about 5-6 years now. The New Edge really caught my attention when they came out and made me really want one. I was dead set on getting a New Edge GT for the longest time (black, 5 speed coupe) but then drove a s197 v6 as a rental and was very impressed. So when I was in the market for a new car I was going back and forth between a New Edge GT and S197 V6 on a day-to-day basis. I loved the sound and look of a New Edge GT but the S197 had a much better interior (at the time) and suspension. Got a decent deal on my S197 and the rest is in the books
To this day I wonder if I made the right decision and what would have happened if I went the New Edge route. I love my S197 but you can't beat that V8 sound and a nicely modded New Edge can look drop dead gorgeous

It very well may be, but there has never been a Mustang produced by Ford or any other widely recognized aftermarket manufacturer with that nameplate. I'm not too knowlegeable about imports, but I'm pretty sure that "GT-R" was an emblem utilized on a Nissan (one of the 240sx variants if I'm not mistaken) at one time or another, which is why we all make fun of Mustang owners who stick one of those emblems on their cars by calling them ricers.
