Default Electric fan with or without A/C

Getting ready to do the electric fan thing and I've learned alot by searching the topic. One thing I can't figure is the Proform is $139 with built in thermostat. The other one I was looking at is $329 and the only difference I see in the 2 is that one has an A/c relay and the other doesn't.

My question is do you NEED the A/C relay? Won't the fan keep the car cool just with the built in thermostat? This is a daily driver and will probably never get over 325 HP.

Thanks for any info.

The a/c relay just turns the fan on whenever you turn the a/c on. When you turn the a/c on, you need air moving through the grill of the car to cool the condenser. This is especially nice when you are sitting in traffic.

+1. If you have AC get the one with the relay. Either that or have the fan running all the time until the car shuts off. One or the other, but if you don't your AC wont cool effectively.

Default expensive relay

Something is not right. A relay can't cost 190 bucks

My problem exactly. I don't understand why one is so much more than the other and the only difference is the A/C relay.
