Default Exhaust

Hey everyone. I'm new to the site. I just got my new Mustang GT 05 a month ago. Any suggestions for exhaust? I'm looking for some rumble but not too much in the cabin. Thanks!

lol, he just said he doesnt want it to be too loud, and you recoment the spl lm1?

maybe a lil too loud for his taste, although iv nv heard the spls on an 05

i would think maybe a magnaflow catback and a catted H pipe would be a good combo

or a flowmaster catback and still the catted H pipe

Scooterman you crack me up! He ask for help on a exhaust that is not to loud and you sugest SLP's and American THUNDER two of the loudest you can get. And no I'm not cutting on you I notice how you take everything as a personal attack just laugh with the rest of us.

If you can afford it go with the Borla. I have a Borla cat back on my Yukon and it is a nice mello rumble.

Funny, all the car magazines say the new stock tuned '05 exhaust makes a sound "to die for"! Ford took alot of effort to make it sound just so. I believe most of the exhaust aftermarket manufacturer's make a replacement now. Loudmouths, American Thunder....obnoxious at best. I wouldn't think you would want to cob up your new '05 with one of those rather unsophisticated exhaust. Borla is quality for sure but I have found their HP gains to be mainly in the upper rpm range. Bassani and Magnaflow also make qualtiy systems. Check out this site for most of the latest offerings:

You realize that it takes more engineering to make a Chambered muffler than it does a straight through, right? Flowmasters have a chamber that is to create a negative pressure inside the muffler to acclerate exhaust gasses. They also have a low balance pressure chamber to keep outside gasses from re-entering the muffler. It also has a tunning chamber to deal with sound, and all of this is built within +/- .004". Those are some tight specifications, tightest in the industry actually. All performance mufflers are quality units. With that being said, if your 98 is non-pi, you should be worrying about your "unsophisticated" heads rather than which muffler will give you +.5 HP at 5600 RPM...

All of this overlooks the fact that he stated he didn't want "too much in the cabin". Go with the SLP loudmouths, quality, fit, and finish are excellent. It's not too loud in the cabin. And remember any time someone on here say's a mod "sucks" that usually a good sign that it's a quality piece they don't happen to have themselves.
