hey would anyone be able to tell me what is wrong. my a/c decides to blow only through the defrost vets on the dash and sides but not through the two side vents and the center console. i changed out the swithces and that didnt work. the a/c blows cold and everything. DOES ANYONE HAVE AN IDEA. i live in Orlando, Florida and it is hot as heck down here! please help!

 

you posted this 5 min. ago. Melted yet? BTW attended the Daytona race a few weeks ago. Stayed in your town at the Flor. Mall Hotel. Yes it was darn humid/hot and rainy.still haad fun. going to wet&wild next time, by god.
sounds like one of the door/flapper things in your plenum stopped flipping. check actuation of door.

 

I had the same problems a few weeks ago and my problem was That the black vacum line going thru the fire wall on the passenger side was disconnected. check that It will probably fix your problem.

 

Well all the hoses running to the firewall check out ok i think its hard to tell where they go i couldnt quite tell. the problem happened right after i had swapped out transmissions in my car and when i put the new opne back in it stopped working correctly. and where would i find the door actuators flip in the console? cause i couldnt find them, plus the side ones dont work too so any other ideas? thanks for the replies thus far.

 

come to find out now my compressor isnt working either it doesnt turn on is this possibly another problem or is it related?. any help....please!!!!

 

Your first post stated that your a/c blows cold but not through the normal vents. Now you just said your compressor wasn't working either. How is that? Without the compressor, you have no cold air, unless its the middle of winter. The compressor shouldn't have anything to do with the fact that it is blowing through the defrost vents.
