Default 67 289 with low oil pressure

HI all just after some help with low oil pressure in a standard 1967 289. The motor runs fine no knocks etc.....but it only holds about 20 lbs no matter what revs.
My thoughts are perhaps a blocked oil pump screen but not keen on taking the sump off then finding its worse...

So i guess what i am asking is it common for the screens to block or is it more likely for the pump to be packing up. Are any of these things common problems.

I am sort of hoping its not the botttom end bearing etc.

ANy help or suggestion would be appreciated.

Cheers Mark

First make sure that the gauge and pressure sender are working correctly. It could be a blocked pickup screen, ir could be a worn pump, it could be that the engine is just plain worn out as well.
