Default how to tell if clutch going bad

ok i went to the track today and didnt run what i expected, this is the first time i had the nitto dr's on and i went from a 13.2 and 2.4 60ft with stock tires to a 13.008 and 60ft of 1.9. I should be in the 12s no problem. My friends told me that only my pass side tire would spin on the burnouts. I also been smelling the same smell you get right after you put on a new exhaust, which i have done in the last 3 weeks but still shouldnt have that smell. So i here i should expect my clutch to go on my power levels and wanted to know how i can tell if its slipping, it doesnt have the burning breaks smell that i allways thought was the clutch, but cant figure out why i only get one tire to spin and thats with traction control off. I was thinking maybe i am not getting enough power in the rear to keep both tires spinning, anyone have any ideas. I am going to buy a stage 3 clutch soon and wanted to know how hard they are to install and any how too's that are good. thanks

Do you have some type of locking differential? If not, that would explain one tire spinning. If you do have a locker of some type, then it isnt working correctly. Taint the clutch (yet) anyway.

Are you asking about the differential clutch pack or the engine/tranny clutch? Sounds like your diff clutch is pooched.

Yep, if you have one wheel spinning then the slippage is in the back end.

No wheels spinning, now that's something else

Might it be the bearings in the diff?

i am pretty sure its the clutch pack, for right now i am going to open up the diff and clean it out, then refill and put some clutch slip stuff my friend told me about, i am waiting back on a price for new lsd and 31 spline axles.I figure i am going to do it sooner or later and also in the process of changing the clutch to a specs stage 3+. So hopefully that will take care of my problems for now.

Don't bother with the additive. It actually promotes slip of the clutches.

Your clutch pack is probably worn out. Was it replaced during the gear install?

How are you doing your burnout?
Even with worn Traclok clutches, aggressively engaging the clutch will usually get both tires going.

Anyways a bottom 13 second car going 1.9 sixty's. I wouldn't expect much change from fixing the Traclok clutches.
