Conversion to Manual ?

Is it hard to convert my automatic 1980 Capri to a manual transmission ? or i only have to swap transmissions ?

Use the cable and pedals from a std tranny Mustang/Capri and get the tranny and bell housing from a V8 Fox car and the tranny cross member and drive shaft. Been there done it and it's easy.

now does it matter if the transmission is from a V8 or 6cylinder ?
