Instrument panel
I am accumulating a pretty good pile of dust inside the lens of my instrument panel. There are obviously two screws to take out and then the light switch **** to remove. Does anyone know how to remove the light switch ****? Has anyone had this problem? Is there a way to keep the dust out?
Pull the **** the whole way out, rotate it till u see a slit in the plastic shaft.
Take a small screwdriver, put it through the slit, there's a metal piece in there around the metal shaft.
Flashlight may help to see what's going on in there. Put the screwdriver under the metal around the metal **** shaft and pull forward, and pull the **** out.
The haynes manual has pictures.

Thanks! I'll give it a shot...I didn't want to go pulling or twisting without knowing what I was doing...eventually I'll have to get me a repair manual.

dont be afraid to pul hard. mine needed force to come out the 1st time time. once you get the **** off, take the 2 torx screws out from uner the top of the cluster area, then pop out the bezel dash piece to get access to the gauge cluster. the cluster is held in by 4 torx screews and 2 wire harnesses. once removed, you can then take the glass lens off the cluster and clean the inside. easy once youve done it before
OK! I got the cluster out and cleaned it real nice. I put it back together, went to Ace Hardware and bought an O-ring that fits nicely (you don't even notice it) and no more dust! All I have to do now is figure out a way to make a gasket around the whole damn front of the cluster...
