FSB Mount Locations..
First of all, let me say that I am not new to the world of mustangs as I have owned a 1987 GT and a 2001 Cobra. Sadly, I was forced to sell both for the sake of practicality in the name of higher education. I have also had experience with the 4G63-T and many other import engines.
Now, I am curious to see if anyone had fabricated a set of motor mounts that fit a Ford Small Block car to a rotary engine such as a 13b-REW or 20b-REW. No, I'm not committing an act of blasphemy by tossing an rice burning motor into an obviously superior domestic torque-monster! I'm looking into purchasing a kit car in the near future and the frame is set up to accept only FSB motors. I figured that with an aggressive street port, a few bolt-ons and a new snail this car could potentially save quite a bit of weight in the front end while keeping a decent amount of horsepower. If anyone remembers, the (albeit highly modified) Le Mans rotary AKA the 4-rotor 787b was banned due to the unfair power to weight ratio over the conventional piston engines.
My only real question here is if anyone knows of a set of motor mounts for this application. I'm not really trying to see if anyone thinks it's cool or gaining fanboy status, but all input is welcome. If there are none, then does anyone know where I could find diagrams to help fabricate my own? I'm sure I could reverse engineer them IF I had the car and the motor but I currently have neither.
I'm dead set on the Factory Five Type 65 Coupe with either a 13b-rew or 20b-rew mated to a T-56 with 8.8" rear 3.73:1 gears. So now comes the fun part, your turn to put in your
