Default 6 to V8 mustang

I was wondering if it is possible to take a mustang with normally a 4 or 6 cylinder and put in a v8? There the same body style right, so what if I had a mustang v8 donar car and took all the necessary parts from the 8 car and put it in the 6. Is it possible, i want to know becuase I don't want to pay high insurance for the v8 considering I would be 17. So I figure buy a 4 or 6 register as that and then swap with a 8. Do you think it is possible without any great difficulty.

I'm 24, a ton of points, numerous accidents and police chases, my insurance is $1500 half a year for two vehicles, PIP for 96 dodge neon highline, FULL for 01 GT Coupe. What you need to do is ask one of your parents to put you into their policy.

Insurance difference between stang and gt is just a couple of hundred bucks for half a year, you'd spend thousands on the transplant.

I would put it on there policy and go under as a seconday but that would mean we have 3 cars and and four people on the insurance so either me or my sister would have to go on as a primary on one of the cars and the insurance shoots up again. You really didn't think I covered that base before.

No clue. Buy one more car, or you go with your father and your sister go with your mother, two different policies. In any case, maneuver with insurance policy, there is no way around it. A transplant is a lot of money AND you are loosing value of your stang as soon as you mess with it, a transplant is a big project.

Not to say this in an offensive way but usually if you have to ask a general question about a swap like this the answer is "no".

Yes it CAN be done, but if you seriously had the time/money/skills you wouldn't be asking.

Another very important thing. Since you only 17, your driving brain is still developing, and right now it's the size of peanut. Too many kids killed themselves driving these things. I know I wouldn't buy my kid a stang. I suggest you look at Ford Crown Victoria and Mercury Marauder. They have an exceptional safety, I just wrecked one at 120 mph and I'm still here to tell you the story. They are fast too, stock late model vic is 16.0 sec in the 1/4, marauder is 14.5. By comparison, stock 01 GT Coupe 5-speed is about 14.1.

Modifying a vic with bolt on will get you into high 14 sec, modifying marauder into high 13 sec. A blower will give you 450 HP on a vic, and 500ish on marauder. Cost of the blower will be lower than doing your swap. Cost of the vehicles will be less than buying your V6 mustang. Cost your insurance will be less than insurance for V6 stang.

Now as far as getting *****, that could be hard. But what you gonna do, you're only 17, there's a whole life ahead.

he may be in my situation. where i live with 1 wreck and two speeding tickets (before stang) it would cost me 1700 for the swap or about that much a month for ins. and isnt the 99 - 04 v6 somewhere in the 16 range and looks way better than a crown vic
