Default Convertible top repair

Hi I'm planning on buying a convertible but the one I looked at today had some ripped stitching around the edges. Does anyone know how much it would cost to fix it? Thanks

you might be able to take it to an upholstery shop and just get the seams restitched and i dont think that would cost too much, but if you have to replace the top then it will prob run you about $600-800 depending on brand, and who does it. I got quoted 700 on my 94 but we bought everything (including headliner) and done it ourselves for under $500. I wouldnt recommend going that way unless you know what you are doing. We had 3 people working on it and it took us 8 nights to get it done right. we had to take it off 3-4 times to get all the wrinkles. I would never do it again.

I got my top off ebay (really nice one) and took it to local upholstry shop. To put it on was $300, got it back the same day. I have heard of the storys where people wreck the top while trying to put it on and didnt see the point of me trying it myself. Good luck....
