Question tranny input shaft worn out?

today when i down shifted i felt/heard something.after that,i could hear a noise from my tranny.
its there only when the clutch pedal is not pushed in.i can hear at idle or fell it when driving but i can hardly hear it while driving because of the engine noise.when i push the clutch pedal, the noise goes out.
seem like the input shat or something else?
thanks
Edit:its not a whining noise.more a grinding.and i just noticed that if a push a little to like get it in gear without pressing the clutch, its a little bit worst.

How much are you pushing the pedal to make the noise stop?
