Default Spark Plug decision

I'm doing a tune up on my '02 Mustang Base which basically means I'm gonna get spark plugs, an air filter, and a fuel filter. I already got an oil change not too long ago and I don't need oil or a filter.

I'm trying to figure out what plugs I need. I went to autozone and they told me that I had to have iridiums because thats what the stock one is. Additionally, they recommended that I get motorcraft iridiums since motorcraft is a Ford brand. Is this true because I have been reading that other people here use platinums or even worse (in quality). Is it really necessary to get the motorcraft iridium plugs or would the motorcraft (or other brand) platinums be fine?

Thanks for the help.

I've had no problems using factory Ford plugs on my '02 GT. Remember to smear some anti-seize paste onto the threads before sticking them in.

usually i just do the motorcraft cheap-o's, or autolite double platinum.....for air filter, you can do a k&n, or youd be better off with an aftermarket intake...
