Default 1/4 shifting RPM??

Hey guys i have a '90 Mustang GT all stock except for a few mods like valve covers and spark plugs and wheels and stuff, anyways i know the specs are 225 HP @ 4000 RPM and 300 Ft. lb of torque @ 3000 RPM. My question is what RPM are you guys shifting at when ya'll do ya'll quarter mile time? It's a little confusing when the HP peak is at 4000 RPM yet the tach goes all the way to 7000 RPM and it doesn't start to redline until about 5800-5900 RPM.

Just cause the tach goes to 7k doesnt mean that the engine stops making power there. Try 9k and watch your et drop!

Thanks for the incorrect and useless insight. Wouldn't be upset if you didn't post anymore.

Forget about redline, a stock cam, stock valve spring 5.0 will float valves right around 5000 rpm, shifting higher will make it slower, shift it at 4800-4900 rpm.

I would try shifting at 4900 rpm and see how that works out.
