I was told that once in awhile is not so bad. Plus there is a rev-limiter so you actually won't blow the engine because it would let it go passed a certin RMP.
Just what I was told.

Well, what happened was that I was racing some dude and the d@mn automatic wouldn't shift so it went up 5k+ rpm.

in the street/strip section there was a fairly long discussion on when to shift racing and a lot of those guys say at redline I personally shift between 5500 and redline when I am racing it drops my tach to about 3200 rpm in the next gear and that is where my acceleration happens after 3200 or so rpm. On the other hand if you don't feel comfortable with hitting redline you should probably trust that instinct.

Don't worry about driving your stang hard thats why you bought it right?

Newmex did you win? and where is your redline 58-5900?

I drive it hard, yes, but I just don't want to fack it up. A guy I knew busted up one of the pistons on his GT a few years back, so that sticks in my head sometimes.
