GAS PRICES
Ok so I have to run 92 octane in my car as do alot of you i'm sure.
My question is, can i pump regular gas inbto the car then add a bottle of octane boost to the tank to bring up the octane?
Is this a safe alternative, or just stick with the pump price on 92?

RE: GAS PRICES
Stick with the pump price. Advanced tuners can implement water injection, which takes care of pinging at higher rpms and allows for higher compression and timing advance.
But as for me, I'm using megajolt lite jr edis controller. I can load any ignition map anytime, using a laptop or desktop computer, a PDA, or even a Macintosh. Latest megajolt allows switching between two maps using a toggle switch on the fly. www.picasso.org/mjlj
A bit hard to build one and install, especially into ECC-V controller machine, but once you do, what a beauty. Let me know if you need one build, I build them.

RE: GAS PRICES
The differance is about $3.00 per tank, to go from 87 to 92 octane. Those octane boosters that the parts stores sell are really not what you think they are, they only raise octane by maybe 1 point if you are lucky and they caost about $3.00 per bottle, you decide whats better.

RE: GAS PRICES
Exactly correct. The difference in price for a tankful of 92 virsus 87 is in many cases less than the cost of one bottle of socalled octane booster. Stick with the pump gas. Let's see......based on $3.00 per tankful.....1 tankful per week.....times 52.....equals a big whopping $156 per YEAR! I don't think that is going to break you for the sake of saving your engine from less than adequate gas additives. You can always opt to slightly detune your engine with one of the programers out there so it will accept either 89 or 87 pump gas. I use 89 all the time with no knocking whatsoever. Good luck!

RE: GAS PRICES
yeah gas here in canada is unreal 99.9/liter, so thats around 4 bucks a gallon, i had to retard my timing so that i can run jus unleaded 87 octane cuz wit a part time job and a car to pay fer and mods wanted it doesnt work out.
